Care & Maintenance Guide

The strength and durability of Qortstone Engineered Quartz require only simple routine care to maintain its fresh look. To clean, we recommend warm water and a mild detergent used with a soft clean cloth. Products such as oils, powders, oven sprays, grill cleaners and products containing Trichloroethane or Methylene chloride should not be used as they may leave a residue and remove the polish from the surface. In the event this does occur, rinse immediately with clean water.

Stubborn Stains

Due to its low maintenance, Qortstone Engineered Quartz requires no sealing to renew its polish. If necessary, apply common, non-abrasive, household cleaners such as Soft Scrub Liquid Gel with Bleach directly on a damp cloth, sponge or a no scratch pad and wipe the surface, rinsing thoroughly after cleaning. To remove adhered material such as food, gum, first scrape away the excess material with a plastic putty knife and then clean the surface with Soft Scrub with Bleach to remove any marks left behind and any residual dirt

Scratch Resistant

It is also recommended that blunt objects such as hammers, screwdrivers and other sharp objects are not directly used on the surface. We recommend that in order to maintain the polish and look of the stone on a long term that some type of cutting board be used and no cutting is directly done on the surface.

Heat & Temperature

Long term exposure to direct sunlight UV ray may result to discoloration of Qortstone Engineered Quartz. Even though it is heat resistant, it can be damaged by sudden temperature changes, therefore, we recommend that an extremely hot pan not be placed directly onto a cold surface and a hot pad towel or trivet be used.
